I had a very nice and pleasant stay in this hotel back in November. The hotel is located at a very nice and quiet place. The room was very good. The complimentary breakfast had a lot of options. If you are not traveling in group and want to stay at a place from where you can see fall foliage by driving 100 miles, this is the best place to stay
Absolutely love this hotel! Staff are always very welcoming and helpful. Rooms are fantastic. The beds! Ohh those beds, I want one for my home! I just wish they had a step stool to get up into them. Or maybe a few inches shorter. Otherwise, fantastic!
Van Buren, Fort Smith Arkansas. We were told we would have a king size bed, it was not. It was hard as a rock. Pillows were very uncomfortable. Nobody had been in that room for sometime Dusty, no coffee or condiments in the room. If you are expecting a guest and you know nobody has stayed in the room, you might want to check the room. The bed was so uncomfortable I was up at 4am with a back ache. Breakfast was wonder. Staff great as usual. The lady we made the reservations with was a little flaky. Thank you for your time Robert and Beth Weatherly
I loved the room. The swimming pool was quite fun. I loved the breakfast every morning. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and sausage, Orange juice and toast.
The manager James is rude and arrogant. We had booked a reservation to take my mom with Alzheimer's to see her relatives one last time in New Mexico but needed to stop half way to rest for the evening before heading out again. We booked a handicap accessible bedroom for us, but at the last minute our handicap van broke down and needed a new fuel pump. So I called the hotel and spoke with Alberta and explained our situation. She said that our card had been approved so they would hold it. I told her I didn't know how long it would be because I wasn't sure if it could be fixed right away or if we needed to rent a handicap van. She said she would make a note in the computer. So when we called back on Sunday and explained that we had found a rental van, we discovered we were charged as a no show. I perfectly understand their cancellation policy and called long before 6pm. When I was assured by Alberta that the room would be held, I expected that. She did not say their was a time limit or that they were going to charge us. The manager wasn't in when we called so I requested that he return our call. We were told he'd be in within 30 minutes. I waited over an hour and had to call back myself. I spoke with James and explained our situation. I remained calm. Never did I curse, call names or yell. The same cannot be said for James. He was easily rattled. Not professional and not acceptable. He said that I had lost my sanity and asked why I couldn't understand. After he started yelling at me, I decided to record him. It's apparent he is not management material and I'm disappointed that Holiday Inn Express has their name associated with this location. Shame on you for letting this behavior to go on. It may very well be a nice hotel. But I expect a corporation such as this to be more courteous to their customers and be willing to work with them considering the extenuating circumstances we encountered on our trip. If you want to be yelled at and belittled, by all means stay at this hotel. Otherwise, go elsewhere.
It really hit tbe spot. The Hotel has computers with WiFi. Look up places to go and print out maps with directions on how to get there.
