While Colton's is a chain, this particular franchise is much more 'Western' than most, and a highly-enjoyable venue. Recommended.
We waited a LONG TIME on our lunch (25+ minutes) and there only a few tables occupied. We got apologies (but no concessions). Guessing, I'd say we waited in excess of 5 minutes before our server even noticed us to take our drink order (and then we had to TELL her to take our food order at that time as well). The food was good enough, but not good enough to wait that long for. I will give them props for the cleanliness of the restaurant, especially since people throw their peanut shells on the floor. The hostess was completely unfriendly (never smiled. You're a hostess! Greet people cheerfully and don't act annoyed!) and acted like we were bothering her for wanting to be seated. Overall, a neutral experience when all pros and cons are considered.
Upgraded a star. Last night's meal was reasonably seasoned. Prepared as ordered. Keep up the good work...
Oh my gosh this was great! She got steak, I got a burger. Both were amazing. I'd swear we were in Texas from the portion size, the price and the flavor. Great place. I highly recommend. But bring an appetite, you'll want to eat it all while you're there.
Food is regularly over seasoned (salty) and rarely cooked as requested... Order your food with no salt and one step under how you really want it prepared. Ie: order rare if you want medium rare.
Was headed for Big Jake's; found it had burned to the ground since we last visited VanBuren. Colton's is literally across the street from the Jake's site, and proved to be a very worthy successor.
Really good food! I definitely suggest the pork chops! But everything I've tried is great so far. The staff has a lot of rollover so the chances you get a new or inexperienced server is pretty high.
Our waitress was Tracy, and bubbled over with personality. She helped us select the best combination for the price, and was attentive throughout our lunch.
My wife and I each had 6oz steaks. She also had a loaded potato, while i opted for mushrooms. The food was excellent, prepared to perfection. The price was reasonable for what we had.
